Bags are packed and weighed. My flight leaves at 7:40 PM on
December 26. The first leg to Dubai is 13 hours. After a four-hour layover, I
leave for Johannesburg, which is an eight-hour flight. Then I have seven hours
in the airport before flying to Windhoek, a two-hour flight. So I leave Chicago
on December 26 at 7:40 PM and arrive in Windhoek at 2:00 PM on the 28th.
After traveling and visiting family and friends for five months, I’m
ready to get back to teaching and am looking forward to doing that in a new
country in a different part of the world, meeting new friends, and experiencing
a new culture.
I don't know how often
I'll be able to post blogs, but I will post when I can. There may be many fewer
photos than I was able to post in China, but I'll try to post as many as I can.
My understanding is that I’ll probably have to go to Oshikati, about 30 km from
where I’ll be living, to use an Internet cafĂ©, thus limiting the frequency of
using the Internet.
